'Newer' formula, Acrylic and Latex paints are getting harder to 'clean' from yourself - and your equipment!
Paint Brushes/Rollers, Tools and power Paint Guns need to be well cleaned inside and out. Water based paints comes in two flavors - fresh paint and cured paint.
Example: cleaning cured latex paint from 'inside' a rental 'airless" power painting machine??? First, it needs to be soaked and softened - but, what works best?

once the paint has dried and the water leaves it...it becomes a solvent based problem. They have serveral different chems at big box stores..i think there is one just for power sprayers. Head over and check it out. i would imagaine..xylene or mineral spirts may also work.

Mineral spirits won't have much effect on dried latex.
How plugged up is the airless? Can you pump any fluids thru it?
You need to disassemble the pump and soak/clean everything you can. If you can't move any liquid thru the spray lines - they may be toast.
