I have broken the steering cable on my foot controlled trolling motor, which is on my 10+year old 16 foot bass boat (information provided as I have no manuals for the trolling motor). I can't imagine it's that difficult to replace, I just haven't ever had the opportunity to replace one. Suggestions are appreciated!!

Google your manufacturer for parts - identify your model and parts needed, purchase them, install them...

Thanks Mr. Obvious!
I was actually looking for alittle more depth...like are the cables standardized and can they be purchased at a WalMart or similar retailer? thx

Cables are model specific - no general Wal-Mart type parts will work.

I would try E-bay for a source... there are quite a few E-bay stores that specialize in various boating accessories.
