Hi,
I am thinking of adding a little decoration in form a vase with colored rocks on the bottom and some kind of liquid on top of them where occasionally there would be a lit floating candle. Any ideas on what kind of liquid (other then water) I can safely use without having to constantly wash the vase? Thanks!

Use distilled water rather than tap water to minimize cleaning problems.
