Is it normal to caulk between the flooring and the wood trim with laminate flooring installed ? I just had the flooring done... but these damn carpenter ants seem to slide through, through the smallest holes between the trim and the flooring.
If anything a colored caulking would be nice to match the wood trim. Then again im not sure if this is normal to have it done this way ? The caulking would actually be helping 2 things in one as I have a slight radon issue as well. Everything is well sealed except for the small gap between the wood trim and flooring.

I use matching caulking in these instances for two reasons... it seals the edges against moisture, to some extent, and hides the inevitable gaps that show up on flooring. Easy to apply, cleans up with water - and, while relatively obvious after application.... no one ever really notices it other than myself.
