So, a bottle of Knob Creek fell out of the freezer and broke in the kitchen. The bourbon was mopped up immediately, but now there is a powder-white stain on the tile floor. I believe the tile is ceramic, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

almost sounds like small scratches from the glass or glass residue....try to carefully clean the area and try some soft scrub type cleaner...possibly a small amount of wax...like automotive and try to buff it out

Sorry no suggestions on cleaning...but who the heck freezes good bourbon? Am I that far out of the loop?
Vodka, sure....Gin, sometimes....but bourbon/whiskey?
I'd never do that to my Bushmill's...mmmmmm......gotta go now.

Hey, maybe the liqueur took some sort of sealer off the tile?

I used to know a guy in college who kept his Wild Turkey frozen. Not a bourbon drinker. Can't stand to smell the stuff. Yuck!

For there to be a powdery residue on kiln-fired glazed ceramic tile (melted glass finish) there has to be something on top of the finish. Wax, oil, or some cleaning residue from cleaning products.

The floor needs to be stripped with a ceramic tile stripper/cleaner and all grout properly sealed. Good bourbon, scotch, gin, vodka or anything else in the bar would not produce a powdery glaze on tile unless it was lifting some product residues.

I can't think of another issue except one, where a builder used tile products that had a finish that was not kiln fired. The installer told me that as he installed it that the finish peeled off like nail polish. The product was bought at a big box at bottom dollar.

More info and history of floor and type of finish is required here. Otherwise, we are spinning our wheels on a tile floor.
