does anyone have a diagram or repair manual on how to replace the impeller / water pump

No, but this is a very simple mechanical project.
be sure to remove all bolts / nuts.
The trim tab must be removed to access a hidden bolt if it is not holding the case together itself. Leave the lower unit in forward gear prior to removal. This will aid in re alignment of the diveshaft later.
Be sure to create a clean area to work. If you can't get on a paved drive, then spread an old tarp or bed sheet under the work area to prevent loss of parts / nuts in the grass.
Once the lower unit is removed, you will find the impellor in a housing where the drive shaft enters the lower unit.

removed all bolts and scews, removed paint at the joint, unhooked shifter lever. still will not come off, where is the hidden bolt? Remove trim tab and bolt under it. So what else holds it on?
