I am going to set-up a 10x8 storage shed I just bought and would like to hear other peoples opinion about the foundation. I was thinking about placing 8x8x16 concrete blocks all around the border of where the shed will be going. I would place them 6 inches in the ground and have 2 inches sticking above ground. After I get that leveled, I was thinking to use 2x4 PT as a floor foundation to construct the shed on. Not sure if this would pose any problems in the future or if it may just be a bad idea..

Good Idea?? Why or Why not?

The floor joists should be 2x6 or larger on 16 inch centers and run parallel to the 8 foot dimension.

Remember to use a vapor barrier and allow ventilation around the perimeter of the foundation.

So would the use of the concrete blocks be an efficient method?

A ring of 8x8x16 block would be OK.

If you have soft soil or a place that could get soggy, consider putting down some solid block (4x6x16 or 2x8x16)flat so they are set 16" long. This will really minimize the setttling if the block want to sink in.
