I went to buy a can of Pledge for furniture.....

On Walmart shelf are now 5 different formulas and reading the labels isn't too helpful

S.C. Johnson website isn't either.

I want whatever is closest to the "original Pledge"

I read somewhere lemon oil will darken furniture, yet their "extra moisturizing" product contains lemon oil.

I just looked at the MSDS sheets for Pledge products. Mostly they have silicone and water in them.

See here...

I don't see an original in spray anymore. Maybe the trigger spray revitalizing oil would be best??

I've always liked Formbys Almond Lustre, it smells better and doesn't feel so "greasy". Like you said, I've seen several places that lemon oil can "dry out" wood, due to citric acid, though I'd bet most of the ones that say "lemon", are just a synthetic scent.

Not a fan of any product that contains silicone. Silicone can build up on finish and dull and soften over time. Most furniture finishes today are lacquer. Manufacturers tend to recommend damp dusting.

The one that says "Natural Beauty" which is a lemon scent, is the original one. Old English (brand) aerosol is good too, and is like the Pledge original.
