Hey guys
Pardon the newbie, but...

I have a gas stove that I am replacing with an electric stove, yet I need it disconnected.
The gas has been shut off at the valve, and has been that way for over a week.
It looks simple enough, disconnect the line from the stove with an open ended wrench and cap the line.

Is this a do it yourself job or do I need to get a contractor in here? (that would cost me at least a $100........)

TIA

Just what you said, I think. Make sure you use gas rated pipe dope/tape (some folks like both) on the cap. And make sure it's the right type thread cap.

Thats basically what I have seen on houses that are plumbed/wired for gas and electric at the stove and clothes dryer.

OK.
Hopefully this will convince a lil' somebody that I won't be blowing up the house today. :D
