I have the sylvania vcr/dvd combo m/n SRD4900
I put the vhs tape in, doesn't play, but I hear these weird noises and the it just shuts off after like 15 seconds and when I turn it back on it ejects the tape. I tried several vhs tapes already and I tried my cleaning tape, does the same thing for every tape.

Pull the cover off, plug it in, and stick a tape in it. Don't touch anything -- there's high voltage inside. Watch the mechanism as the tape loads. Two arms should pull the tape out of the case and wrap it around the drum. The reels should then start turning. If not, hit Play. If they still don't turn, there's probably something jamming the drive mechanism.
You say there's "weird noises" ... roll up a magazine and hold it to your ear to try and localize where the sound is coming from. It could be a slipping drive belt.
If everything appears to work mechanically and you hear TV audio but see only a blue screen or snow, the head is severely clogged.
