Hi -- I'm new here but having giant iron problems with my water. The conditioner (20yr old Culligan) has stopped working. I don't think it's worth fixing the valve again (I replaced it 2 yrs ago). My water isn't all that hard -- somewhere around a 6 - 7 hardness (100 or so mg/L). The iron however is around 12ppm -- all disolved. A Filox filter has been recommended to me and while researching it online, it seems as though it would do the trick but a lot of Professionals don't seem to have ever heard of it. My question is: does anyone know about Filox and/or have any experience with it? Also I have gotten differing views on whether the Fleck 2510 valve with air injection or the Clack valve without it is better. Some say that with that much iron oxidation might not be a good thing. Abundant Flow Water Systems however, which sells the unit (IronBreaker3.com) says that because the oxidation takes place in the tank not with a separate aerator, there is no venturi and it doesn't create the muddy mess that would otherwise clog up valves in a house with that much iron in the water. Anyone have any thoughts? It would all be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
