I have a 76 & a 79 Starcraft tent trailers and I was worried about the condition and safety of the cable systems. They both are functional but I worry about the cables snapping. I have contacted different RV shops and they have all told me the same thing that all they can do is start the work on it and charge me an hourly rate, (all over $100 an hour) and when it's done then I'll know how much it cost to replace the cables. For such old tent trailers, I'm not willing to wing it with costs. Has any one ever replaced old cables and how complicated is the process?
