Hi, I have an older pole barn with ring shank nails holding the metal siding. I want to remove the siding, reconfigure a corner of the building and reattach the siding. The problem is you cannot pull ring shank nails withont damaging everything around it. I heard there is a drill that drills around the nail head much like a hole saw. I heard there are screws with oversized heads and the rubber grommet to cover the larger holes? Has anyone heard of such a setup? Thanks, Kurt

Don't enlarge the hole on the siding, cut the head off the nail with a dremel tool and cut off blade. Once the siding is down, you can pull the remaining parts of the nails or drive them home. If your siding is attached on the ridge of the siding, it is old school. New school is attached on the flat using neoprene washered screws with 1/4" hex head.
