I am looking for a few suggestions on where to go for a new conditioning system. Here are my specs:

pH = 7.8
Iron = 14.17mg/l
Manganese = .14mg/l
Hardness = 6G/gal
TDS = 145mg/l

1. Do these levels require a system?
2. What brands/models should I look at?
3. What to avoid?

I live in Maine with a private well.

Thanks

Are you sure your iron is 14+ parts per million? That is extememly high. Make sure your iron is all ferrous iron and not ferric iron. Ferric iron would need addtional equipment to remove.

I recommend a twin tank softener with each tank having 1.5 cuft of resin. Kinetico and Fleck valves are the best choices here. Kinetico is a higher value but also a higher price.

Place special emphasis on quality or you will be buying twice. Iron at those levels will destroy plumbing, fixtures, appliances and laundry very quickly.

Good luck and wise choices don't often run togther.
