I have a Maytag model # LAT9206BAE washer. The tub now wobbles excessively on spin cycle even with no clothes. It is level, and the 3 tub springs appear to be OK. How can I make sure the problem is the 3 felt dampner pads before I take it apart?

did you try tipping the washer forward and backward on it's self leveling legs?

Not sure yours is one of the one's that they have had a problem with. Dose the tub lean too one side stopped? Maytag has a kit that has the 6 springs and white plastic ring in it. This is on the one's about 6 years old. Have had them so bad that we also had to replace the base

Yes, I tilted it forward, but I will try what has been suggested in this forum, WD-40 on the levelers. I think this model does not have the inherent design problem. It does not lean to one side when stopped and if moved off center, it self centers when spinning, that is until it starts to wobble.

this is an older model with a orbit trans. These older 15+ years old, never had the design problems of the new ones. Those older models had very little changes to them since the 50's. They also dont have self leveling legs. You need to level the washer (with a level) and then set the nut locks on the legs so they dont go out of adjustment by themselves, due to vibration.
Now to the problem. Does the unit walk? are the rubber feet on the legs worn smooth or worn down on there bottoms? (they should have deep diamonds shapes and soft)
could it be a vibration problem?
