Hi all,

Hope you can help.

It seems that a family of chipmunks has moved into a small hole in the brickwork of my house.

Unfortunately, I think they have had babies.

Can anyone suggest a way of humanely getting them all out before I fill in the hole.

As my wife and 4 year old can attest, they are cute but that doesn't mean that I want them living in my house!

Thanks,
Steve in Toronto

You can spray the area with coyote urine or Ropel. Either will likely make them move on. Shake Away is another repellent that contains fox urine.

Chipmunks are usually solitary unless during the mating season. If you think you have a chipmunk family, then it's the mother's burrow and she has given birth to 4-6 babies. The mother stays with the babies for 4-6 weeks or so, and then they are off foraging on their own.

Steve, you can also live trap them once the babies are old enough to leave the nest and are eating solid food.
