I will be cutting mostly 2x4's with a circular saw. What do you folks use to cut with precision?

Get a good aluminum "speed square", clamp it with your fingers and use it as a straight edge guide.
One is shown here....

To keep the speed square from slipping, always have the lip on the back side, so it hooks as you put pressure on with the saw.

Gunguy's suggestion is the way to go. You may need to reduce the cutting depth of you circular saw so the motor will clear the flange on the speed square. Good luck with your project.

I have to take the new tool, scratch it up, dip it in dirt and burn the box and wrapping. Otherwise I'll get grilled...."when did you get that tool? Don't you have enough...." Good site. I'll look after she goes to work.
