I have a porter cable generater with a 10 hp B&S ohv engine, its 5 years old with about 30 hrs. We started it up this year and it statred fine first pull, it seemed a little noiser than usual, plugged in cord for load and it had very little power. I pulled off the air filter and it was melted and destroyed from the inside. Started engine with filter off and it ran but was back blowing thru carb. Pulled head, checked valves, everything fine, put head on turned over engine, intake valve openes completely, exhust valve openes twice and doesn't seem to open all the way. HELP Whats going on and what happened?:( :confused:engine model #205412 0178E1

Have you had the flywheel off?
When you say the ex valve opens twice, does it open fully once, and then just bump open a hair the second time?
