Hello and thanks in advance for reading.
I have a friend who has a central unit that has suddenly stopped cooling the house. The air flow is strong but is not as cool as before. The filters are new and there seems to be no frozen lines. Any suggestions on things he may check?
Thanks for your time.

Is the t-stat set to cool? Are the breakers on inside the main panel plus at the outside disconnect on or if fused are the fuses good? Is the compressor running? Is this a Split system or a package type unit. Any signs of wiring damage like from the neighbors kid weed eating around the unit or maybe the new puppy sharpening its teeth on the wiring?

It is a split unit. Yesterday, he bought cleaners for both coils and cleaned them thoroughly. Yesterday's temp here was about 5 degrees cooler than the past week, but the coil cleaning seems to have done the trick.
