Pretreat stain with solvent cleaner such as rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol. You can blot from outside stain toward middle or flush the stain and let set. Then, pretreat with heavy duty liquid laundry detergent and let set. Wash in hottest water recommended for fabric and heavy duty liquid laundry detergent.

Some sprinkle cornstarch or baking soda on stain and place fabric stain side down on old towel, rag, or several layers of paper towels and heat with hot iron to dissolve stain. Then they proceed as above.

There are commercial laundry degreasers available like Simple Green, Fulsol, Quick N Kleen, and others. The key is to give the cleaner time to dissolve the grease/oil stain. Do not dry in dryer until all stains are gone and petroleum odors have dissipated.
