I've just completed my renovation and unfortunately the contractors left a huge black sticky stain (which I suspect is silicone) outside my apartment, on the hard ceramic floor. I've tried various chemicals - thinner, WD 40, but the stain does not seem to go off.
Can anyone advice on a quicker method to lighten or at least get rid of some residue? I'm thinking of using a scrapper to try to get scrap it off but the patch is quite big.
Thanks in advance.

Call the contractors and tell them to come back and clean up their mess. I don't know why they would be using silicone, unless it was silicone caulk. This would not be black unless dirt adhered to it. It would present itself as a rubber like substance that could be scraped or peeled off and any residues cleaned up with rubbing alcohol or your thinner.
You mention outdoor ceramic tile. If you live in an area where there are freezing temperatures, tile should be frostproof. If not, the freeze/thaw will cause the tile to spall and break.
