Cheese, thank you for your response it runs good, I have not tried it under load this year, and yes it was left outside covered and I did find some rust in the carb throat and the throttle vavle is rusted the vavle stems at least were you can see by removing the carb and muffler are clean.

Can you please tell me what kind of compression reading I should get and what the head bolts should be torqued to, and how to remove the braas jet on the bottom of one of the carb tubes the new has a slot for a screw driver the old one no slot.

Also I am curouis as why there are 2 tubes on the bottom of the carb and the gas tank has a small upper reservoir which the shorter of the tubes goes in possibly for starting?
Thank You,

Look for 90psi or better for compression, 140 inch lbs head bolt torque, and the carb can be cleaned without removing the tubes normally.

The long tube with the strainer is the pickup for the fuel pump, it pumps the fuel into the bowl where the short tube picks it up for the main jet.
