I forgot to change our filter and now the indoor coil is frozen up. It is SLOWLY defrosting but it being 90+ here this week does anyone have any tips on speeding up the defrost? Take off the service panel in front of the coil?

Thank you!!!

Is this a Heat Pump system? If this is a heat pump system you can run the system in heat for short periods of time say 2 to 3 minutes minutes until all the ice is melted. Note: most of the time the drain pan will overflow due to the huge volume of water from the quick melt the best strategy is probably to leave it off until it thaws on its own. After a few hours you can turn your blower fan on and that may speed it a bit.
