I have a tape bubble running up part of a seam in my drywall.

How can I fix this problem?

You'll have to cut out what is at least loose, and do it again. Make sure, the next go around, that you have nice damp mud on the entire length, that is not setting up on you before you apply the tape. Taping is really an art. You want the mud to be at the right consistency, and to stay that way for the entire tape amount you are imbedding. And you do not want to over-mud, nor do you want to squeeze every ounce of it back out again with the broadknife.

If ever you do larger runs, you might want to consider an unprofessional method, of only taping in say 4 foot lengths, or within arm's reach without moving, especially if you are on a ladder. Sure, you'll have a break in the tape, but this will not hurt anything. At least you'll be more assured to have less problems: Less chance of mud setting on you before taping, due to playing with the knife in the mud too long, trying to apply the mud for the entire length, or less chance of causing wrinkling in the tape after you broadknife it in place.

In the case you ever just get a small bubble, and the rest is intact, you can probably just cut out the loose paper and just fill with mud without any more tape. I'd use some Durobond.
