Just was given a Sears Roto-spader 4 h.p. Front tine. Doesn't want to start. Gets fire, Gets too much gas. Previous owner tinkered with, used to run but would bog down under load.
Any info info appreciated.
Model # 785 298041.
Also need a drop bar for back if anyone has a spare lying around.
Thanks

I'm not familiar with it. About all I can tell you is that the engine is a tecumseh (you probably already knew). Check back, someone else here may have some info.

Hello; Ironhead. I tried to cross-reference your engine number in a Sears- Tecumseh list but apparently there is a digit missing in
the engine number you posted. Verify the number so I can try again.
Good luck

I have a sears rotor spader 6 horse If its getting to much gas I would say that your needle is stuck open the one that the float moves. you can still buy a rebuilding kit for this carb. ABOUT 10.00 there are two o rings I believe on that carb that neele valves seat against, one being the float needle check out this sight How To Rebuild Tecumseh Carburetors (http://www.jackssmallengines.com/faqrebuildcarb.cfm)
