I have a Troy-Bilt 4-stroke cycle trimmer and it runs fine if it gets gas. My priming bulb squishes down good but won't pop back up into full blown up position right away. There isn't anything obviously wrong with it, like cracking or mushiness or anything. Could it simply be too stiff from sitting or is there another vent that could be bad?
I've had it apart to spray out the carburetor and there isn't any junk in there or anything like that.
An answer here could save me some gas to go pick up a new one.

Sounds like a problem in the carb not letting the bulb pull gas through.

Correct. The carb is probably full of little pieces of the rotted fuel line that disintegrated inside the fuel tank. What a mess.
Not a serious problem.
A new carb is only 45 bucks versus a big labor charge to service the machine.
