I recently recieved a blues overdirve guitar pedal for my amplifier and it has a 9V in AC adapter jack. now, i wasn't given the 9V ad adapter, but i have one of my own. my 9V adapter, however, is 500 Miliamps, and the pedal says it runs off 30miliamps. Can i connect my 9V 500miliamp adapter to my 30miliamp 9V guitar pedal without causing any sever damage?

Yes. You can always supply more amps (or milliamps) than required. A device will only use what it needs. To little and you could blow the power supply, or in this case, adapter.

Voltage is different. To much and it could blow the device. To little and it either won't work or could hurt the device.

Also, make sure you're providing the correct ac or dc.
