Hi, I have a computer monitor that was damaged. It was scratched by something and has 3 or 4 scratches across the screen. They are all relatively small scratches, but because of the light reflection they show up a great deal. I've heard that you can buffer scratches out of glass or something of that nature. Do you know anyway to remove or buffer out scratches from the glass? Thanks

There's something called "liquid glass" (I'm not sure of the tehnical name of it) that should work.Check with a glass company, or stop and talk to one of those guys who sets up beside the road to repair windshield chips. That's probably what they use! If you try to buff the scratches you might end up with a frosted looking area.

Good luck!

Computer moniters are like tv screens. I have not hear of any product that will remove or buff scratches with a satisfactory results. You might check with a tv repair professional in you area. Good luck!

Ozz - Since the last posting I have checked on this site and with some of my "geek" buddies and all have said that there is not a product that they know of that will give any kind of good results. If you do find something that we are unaware of PLEASE let us know. It's a common problem and many would be interested - if you come up with a solution.

Have you tried one of the glare reducer screens you can buy to place over your monitor to help reduce eye strain and fatigue? I can't think of the proper name off the top of my head.

I have used regular toothpaste and a soft cloth to polish minor scratches and some severe yellowing from gauge face cover glass, watch "crystals" and a few other small pieces. The super fine abrasives in the toothpaste will polish out the minor scratches with a little rubbing. I wouldn't try this on any magnifier or prescription lenses as it would probably change the Rx of those. Don't know if it will work in your case, but thought it was worth mentioning. Good luck.
