Greetings!
I've got a Caloric Electric Oven circa the stone age (model EHR344 Code 2n) that overheats - sometimes by 10 degrees, sometimes by as much as 200+ degrees. The variances are not consistent so I figure I don't need to calibrate the thermostat, I need to replace it. I looked online but could only find a replacement thermostat for a Caloric EHR348 model.
Do you know how strict the model numbers are on replacement parts like that?
Also, is this something an English major could replace without losing a finger?
Thanks for whatever help you can offer.

turn off the power and pull the thermostat, there is a make and model on the thermostat (honeywell, robertshaw,ITT,etc) and run the number through a parts warehouse.
