I built a block chimney many, many years ago. I now want to put in a 3 inch hole for a pellet stove.
Is there any thing new these days for putting hole in concrete block. I do have a masonry drill bit. I was wondering how the hammer drill works, I suppose I could rent one of them. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

First of all, only one smoke source per chimney.

If in doubt, call your Insurance Co.

Check with your local home heating place (where you would buy a pellet stove) on buying/borrowing the drill and hole saw to accomplish this feat of masonry.

There are also equipment rental outfits where you can rent anything from jack-hammers to scaffolding. They would also have this heavy gear.
