I am hoping this doesn't post twice, as I had trouble with my PC on the first post. My apologies if it did.
I have a single story, small ranch house with a dirt cellar under it that was dug out long after the house was built. I haven't yet measured it exactly, but it's fairly small, roughly 8 ft wide, 10 - 12 foot long and 7-8 foot deep with a small concrete stairwell. I know I already have to install permanent jackposts under the footers, so rather than do that, with the escalation of really bad weather here that requires being under ground, I am seriously considering putting in walls and a floor instead. What is the best way to go about doing this in an area that is already dug out from under the house? Would it be more feasible to use poured concrete or block for the walls, and how should they be re-inforced? Thank you.
