Hi

Im wondering if anyone knows the best way to repair a door thats come off a wardrobe.

The problem is the screws wernt tough enough to hold the door in place and now there is abit of a mess where the screws used to be. I have to put the door back on in exactly the right place so need to use the same messed up holes for the screws to go in.

Is it possible to get some sort of tough wood filler and fill the holes and then re-drill and re-screws the door in place?

Thanks

Wood filler usually won't hold for long. Best fix--Drill out the screw holes and insert a glued dowel the size of the hole. Next best--fill the screw holes with wooden matches, toothpicks and glue.

A golf tee and glue works, also, if you don't mind using it for a purpose other than that for which it was intended.

been there and done it all ways. Bill is right. drill, glue, dowel let dry. sand, redrill, refinish and install with new screws.(do NOT overtighted wood screws)
