I'm new to the forum, and have found so much good information here.

I'm planning to make drapes for a double screen door which is about 160 inches wide. I know that a curtain rod that long will need more than two brackets, but I was wondering if I'd be able to get away with three--one on each end and one in the middle?

I'm going to use lined linen fabric for the drapes, so they'll probably be medium weight.

:)

Hi and welcome to the forums! A good rule of thumb is placing a bracket about every 40", so 4 would be better. You can try 3 if you want, but 80" is a pretty wide span, and you may have some sagging issues down the road, so better to put an extra to avoid this.

Thank you, Shadeladie!

I think I might just go with a traverse rod then. I've seen some links for c-rings, but I'm worried the rings might snag or need a little extra help getting over the brackets when opening the curtain. These curtains will be opened and closed a few times a day, so I'm looking for something quick and easy to operate.

thanks again for the info!
