Hey I have a briggs 14.5 OHV i/c quiet
Model#287707
type# 1224-e1
code# 9710162e
For what ever reason it started leaking oil onto the muffler. A loss of power starts off a smoke fest. I stop mowing for a second or two and it returns to normal.

Please help.

thanks

Check the oil. I'll bet it's overfull, thin, and smells like gas. If so, clean the carb and replace the float needle. Then when the carb problem is fixed, drain the oil and refill with fresh clean oil before running the engine.

No problem! Just make sure you've got the carb problem fixed or it will happen again. It doesn't happen while it's running, it happens when it's sitting there for a week unused.
