Many Thanks for your help with the installation so far. One additional question on the Programming.

All keypad labels have been programmed for the Zones 1 through 13. No problem there.

I thought we had the Zone 14 reserved for the Smoke detectors. The only way we have been able to test this zone is when I remove the cover from the smoke detectors, the keypad signals a trouble condition and I follow the instructions and see that it says "Zone Fault" and further checking on keypad shows it is "Fire Zone".

But when I actually look at the label of the Zone 14 .. it simply says "Zone 14"... there is no labeling. I thought we had originally labeled this "Smoke Detectors" and yet no label.

Bottom line, how do I confirm which Zone # the Fire Zone is assigned to and should I go ahead and label that zone # (14) ... to say "Smoke Detectors"?

P.S. The system is not being monitored currently. I guess it looks like the "Fire Zone" does not behave like "Burglar Zones" .. it seems

when you take the smoke detector off and the system goes into trouble, number 6 should be showing up. press 6 again and it will tell you what zone it is. it's up to you if you label the zone or not. just as long as you remember what the zone is.

I did as suggested.

1. Removed cover off Smoke detector
2. Fault condition appeared on keypad... NO number 6 appeared.
3. Pressed "6" again , display said . "The system is ready to arm" with a fault condition still on the display.

So this did not help. I still was able to follow through the trouble condition and find that it was the FIRE ZONE.

But dont know what Zone # it is assigned to!!!!! How can I find out the ZONE #?

I figured out how the Fire Zone labeling works. It is all in the documentation. It is assigned to section "65" . First 1-64 sections are Burglar Zones.

Section 65 has a default Value of "Fire Zone" and which can be labeled as one wishes.

Thanks.
