I recently removed 2 zones from my workshop system. These 2 zones (zones 5 and 6) were wired to another outbuilding. I have the cable that is running to the outbuilding completely disconnected from the control box. Following Mr Ron's instructions I installed resistors in the control box at zones 5 and 6 in place of the original wires.

Everything worked fine for several months. Now twice in the past 2 weeks zone 5 has set off an alarm when the system was in an armed condition.

The keypad blinks the memory and zone 5 lights.

How can zone 5 set off an alarm when the wires are disconnected and replaced with a resistor?
The keypad arms and dearms fine.
My system is a DSC PC1550

Any suggestion on what may be causing these false alarms would be greatly appreciated.

unless you got a loose connection where you have the resistor, not sure what would cause. go into section 11 and 0 out these zones. then you have nothing to worry about.
