Hi,
I am a newbie with alarm systems. I do have a technical background and have figured out much of the programming of my new system.
I believe I have completed programming everything. The problem is that the system still will not arm. I have a PC1616 board and either the RFK or PK5500 keypad. I think it is the RFK5500 because it does have a wireless receiver in it. That leads me to my question.
I have only wireless sensors. No wired zones. I do not have any resistors in the wired zones, in fact I have not touched them at all. Could that be the problem?
Here are the zones I have setup
z1 Wireless PIR 06
z2 Front Door 01
z3 Side Door 01
z4 Window 03
z5 Window 03
z6 Window 03
z7 Window 03
z8 Window 03
z9 Window 03 (Section 2)
I also probably should not have, but I assigned the keypad to 02.
I have tested all of the wireless sensors with section 904 and all are responding properly.
At this point I had to do a "set to default" once because I was clueless about what I was doing at first until I researched programming the system.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. It has taken me more than a week just to figure out how to get the sensors programmed into the system and define the zones.

are you getting a green light when you are trying to arm? if not, what zones are open. did you go into *8, installer code, 101 turn on 8, 102 turn on 8, etc until you did all nine zones?
do you or do you not have wired zones, not sure what you there.

No green light. No wired zones at all only wireless sensors.
I did not go through the steps you mention. You say that has to be done for each zone?

OK, I went through each zone 101, 102... and turned on 8. After I backed out I was receiving an error code 5. My guess is because I mis-assigned the keypad. Not sure how to correct the error. Researching manual, but if you have a suggestion please assist. Still no green light though....
I tried *8 (icode) 000 0 08 (manual states 08 is default for LCD keypad) same error.
Also now when I back out of installer mode, two numbers come up on the display 3,4 twice

That should be 18, not 08 (0 makes it a "global" keypad, which doesn't mean what you think it means...)
The trouble 5 means that it's looking for a keypad or module that you have removed or changed the address on. Go to program and enter 902 which resets the module supervision (after you set your keypad back to a partition 1 keypad).

Thank you!! Perfect. I knew there were just a couple things that I was missing to get this thing working. I still have some programming to do (phone numbers, options...) but the alarm did arm. I also found a sensor which the plastic battery protector did not remove cleanly from when setting it up initially and was not getting power.
