Hello,
I need a little help on setting up a new system. I bought a DSC 1832 with pk5501. I would also like to install wireless devices. Here are the questions, and thanks in advance for the help.
1) What is the best way to comunicate to the 1832 via pc (for programming)and what is the pinouts for the cable RS 232 cable?
2) Should I buy a new panel that handles wireless or the PC5132.
3) Has anybody else hooked it up to mcontrol? and how well does it intergrate into the media center?

As I often state, using the DL software for programming a single alarm panel is overrated. You still need to know and understand the basic programming concepts for the system.

That said, if you still want to do it this way, you need the PC-Link cable set for this.

You can add wireless by either adding a wireless receiver, or a keypad that has the receiver built in.

Never played with mcontrol.
