Because most brushed nickel household items have a special protective coating, most manufacturers recommend warm, soapy water, rinse, buff dry. Check owner's manual for care and maintenance. If wiped dry after each use, water spotting can be prevented. Water marks and spotting are common where there is hard water, thus the importance of keeping surfaces wiped dry.

Perhaps a little toothpaste (not gel) or baking soda paste on damp cloth, rubbing in direction of grain? Always rub gently. Avoid abrasives and harsh cleaners and bleach.
