Want to paint my kitchen. Problem is my walls run into my family too. The kitchen and family room is kinda like one big room. The kitchen L's with an island and kitchen table in middle. How would I seperate this? Thanks for any input.

One option to unite but separate two areas in an open floor plan is to paint the big wall that joins the two areas the same color. Then paint the other walls in the two areas different but complementary colors. Do not run a piece of painter's tape or molding down the wall and paint the two areas on the big wall different colors. Believe it or not, I have seen this done.

Thank you for replying. I was kind of thinking I would have to do that. The long wall which is behind the sink, then sliding door then goes along family room. The other wall meets the frig and then the hallway to front entry. I really want to make a seperation because I want to make a rustic style in FM (pinecone) theme. Maybe a border somehow. Thanks again for your help.
