I am going to be installing a Vista 20P with the 5883H transceiver, most likely I'll be putting in some wireless smokes along with the other wireless devices. I would like a wireless carbon monoxide detector that works with the Vista 20P and the 5883H transceiver. Unfortunately not only does Honeywell not make a wireless CO detector, they don't even make one, from what I've seen. Anyone have any ideas?

One possibility, not sure if it would even work, is to get a CO detector that has a dry contact and wire it to a wireless door transmitter like a 5816MN or a 5817. But I would prefer a detector that works like their wireless smokes. Pretty sure I've seen smoke/CO detectors before, wonder why Honeywell hasn't come out with something like that.

Good news! Honeywell has one in the works. It is previewed in their 2008 sourcebook, so it should be available soon.

Very cool, glad they are doing something about their lack of CO detectors.

In their defense, the UL certification process for things with life-safety applications moves with the blinding speed of a tectonic plate.

Getting that UL stamp, especially on a wireless detector is pretty grueling.
