I built treasure chests or pirate's chests, but they all had flat lids on them. Does anyone have a link for how to make one, i know i don't. The sides would look like a 1/2 circle, if that helps.

if you want the chest top to have compound curves it will require more work. if you want it to curve from front to back, as with an old sailing trunk,then it is not so hard. no links, just experience. cut the end pieces for the desired shape, and cut long narrow pieces for the top to run left to right. use a protractor and figure the angle and cut each piece accordingly to form a semi-circle. i made one for a '29 Ford truck as a tool box. i had to experiment with the angle, but i believe it was 7 1/2 deg. on each side. that will vary with the depth(front to back) of the chest. you could lay out an end view of the top to get the angles right before cutting the wood. hope it helps!
