I typically work with sterling silver but have started a copper project and now need advice. I have an Acetylene /Atmospheric Air torch and would like to braze copper sheet to copper sheet using phos-copper (0%) flat rod. Here is the question, What do I do now? I would guess that I fire up the torch, heat to a nice glow and touch the rod to the seams where to be connected, just like copper pipe connections OR do I cut the rod into chips as I would if working with sterling silver? Any help would be great!

You would first clean the copper where the rod will flow.
The joint is heated just short of cherry red and the rod is applied as the temperature approaches the melting point.
As the rod flows move the heat to the back of the joint to draw the flow in.

Thank you for your reply! So, it's the same principal as sterling silver without the molten red melting point. I just hope the copper sheet won’t warp. A test run and time will tell. Thanks again!
