Has anyone here ever used one of the dashboard covers that are made of molded plastic to fit over your cracked dash? I have a 2000 dodge 2500 truck and the dash is ;) starting to crack from the front to the rear. Dealer will not do anything except try to sell me a new one( 400.00) plus 400.00 installation. So the 130.00 molded plastic one from genosgarage.com seems like the way to go if it looks ok....thanks oren

i haven't used one, but i have seen one installed on a dash, if intallation is good it works. much cheeper than the factory dash, also check with a local body shop. they install new dashes when repairing wrecks all of the time. might get a better price that way.

also the cover only comes in black so i would have to paint it to make it match????what kind of paint would you use, i'd certainly want something that would hold up..Would'nt want to start worrying about peeling paint after all this trouble

I would think one of those spray paints made for plastic would be the paint to use. Make sure the piece is clean first!

Just make sure the air bag is able to function.
