My 6160V is hooked upto a Vista 20P
It was working fine for months now the dispaly has random letters and symbols. any Ideas why this has happened and how to fix?

Power the system down and re-start it. Sometimes this happens when there have been rapid fluctuations in AC power.

tried it 4 tmes still garbled letters

The only thing left, other than a genuinely bad keypad, is to check the continuity of the keypad cable. If all 4 conductors test good, then you probably have a failed keypad.
