Hi:

My father has a Toro Model No. 51932 Gasoline (2-cycle) string trimmer; believe it's a 2003 model. It sat unused for a couple of years and before that was only used occasionally at his residence. It starts up but will only run with the throttle trigger engaged from approx. half to full speed. If you release the throttle trigger and try to run the unit at a slow speed or idle, it dies immediately. It looks likes there are two seperate clear gasoline lines leading to the carb. Is anyone familiar with this model and carb and able to diagnose the probable cause of this problem.

Thank you,
Kevin

If it sat unused for years, it needs the carburetor disassembled, cleaned, and possibly rebuilt with new gaskets and diaphragms. Look closely at the fuel lines as well, and replace them if needed.
