I have a white lawn tractor and it wont stop. It has the goofy cruise matic transmission. I cant take off fine but it wont stop. I cant stop it with the brake or even pop it out of gear. I adjusted the brake on it but it didnt help any. Does anyone know what wrong? I think this was built in the mid to late 80s.

SOunds to me like the transmission belt is too tight.

Ill try to look at it today, the only way to stop it is to shut it off. One time the wires on the back of the key popped off and I couldnt shut it off, stop or even slow it down. I was by a pile of dirt and thought I will run it up on that and it will stall out. It drove up it and I thought it was going to roll over backwards so I jumped off and it finaly quit with the choke pulled out.

I have 2 of these tractors and the other one works fine.
