I am setting a pole in concrete for a purple martin house. This is my first experience with concrete. The hole is 22" deep (plus 6" gravel at bottom) and 8" diameter. I will be using quickrete. My question is ... Do I need to worry about curing the concrete?

The curing process takes several hours. The concrete will continue to get stronger beyond these several hours for a matter of months. You need to install temporary braces to hold the pole steady while the concrete cures sufficiently to support the pole.
