I have a cabin built in the 1940's on my property that im trying to restore. Problem is that everything is a problem. The cabin rests on what appears to be cinder blocks and earth. 1 cinder block to each side. In order to succesfully repair the floor I have to find a way to level it out. The house itself looks like its on a slant.( I will have myspace pictures of it soon) Underneath, the ground is virtually touching the floor joists. The zoning board in my town is totally anal about doing anything to a second structure on a property that existed before a law came into place. My question is, how can I give the cabin a proper, level, and supportive foundation without tearing it down?

You can hire a contractor to jack up the building and install another foundation beneath it.
