First off, this is my first post and I have very little information on this topic, so please bear with me. I was hoping to get some advise on replacing a door sensor to our main door. We purchased a new front door and now need to replace the sensor. We have an ADT system which looks like the Safewatch Pro RF. I believe we have a wireless system as the sensor is in the door and door frame. The sensor is glued into the old door which is why we need a new one.
Do we need to buy both parts for the frame and door or can we just get one for the new door? Also, where do we get it? How do I know if it is compatable with our system? What does it take to program it? Sorry for all the questions, but I am truly learning all out this. Thanks!! God Bless :)

The device may be wireless or hardwired press the * button and it should show that zone as open. If the zone number is 1-8 it is hardwired, if it is 9-48, then it is probally wireless. Most wireless devices are surface mount like the 5816, however, Honeywell does make a 5819 that can be recessed in the frame. In any event, even if it is wireless, it is probally just the magnet in the door. You can get a replace ment 3/8" or 3/4" magnet and recess in the new door to allign with the sensor in the jamb.

Good luck, post back if you run into problems.
